Library Philosophy
It is the philosophy of our library that the media center is the integral part of a child-centered school. It strengthens and extends the work of the teacher and the classroom program. It is the heart of the school that provides stimulation for the learning experience. The library recognizes and respects the individual differences of each child and strives to instill confidence and academic awareness. It strives to foster self-learning and self-expression. The library has the magical power to instill a love of reading in each child.
Library Goals:
- To foster the love of books.
- To learn how to locate a book in the library.
- To work cooperatively in groups
- Participate with teachers and administrators in programs for professional and cultural growth of the school staff.
Library Hours:
Each class will come to the library for 35 minutes once a week.
Open Book Check-out: Each grade level will have a two hour time period each day to check out a book in addition to their class period.
2nd grade: 9:30– 11:30
3rd grade: 1:20 – 3:20
