This month I want to share some exciting things that have been happening here at Honey Island:

Cool Kids Club:
The Cool Kids Club is one of our positive behavior programs to encourage students to practice positive behaviors in school. To become a member, students must display excellent behavior, complete all homework on time, and all class work on time. During the third nine week period, 311 students qualified and were recently honored with a Magic Show by Tricky Trigg. They also received a rubber wristband “I’m A Cool Kid!” bracelet.

AR Home Connect:
The Accelerated Reader Program allows students to practice reading on their own independent levels while teachers and parents monitor progress. Most recently, our school has implemented the Home Connect access site. This allows parents and students to instantly view how the student is doing with their independent practice.
